Story
Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting my page.
My doctor once said to me “If I could bottle up healthy
eating and exercise and administer it to all of my patients, cancer survival
rates would be even higher than they are today”. I agree, and look forward to
that day, but for now I will have to do it the old fashioned way.
Admittedly, running a half marathon alone, won’t directly
result in me beating cancer, but it will go a long way to proving that cancer
won’t beat me.
I owe a lot to the dedication of medical professionals around the globe who have researched and successfully implemented treatments. Immunotherapy (one of these treatments) saved my life after I was diagnosed with stage 4 skin cancer in January 2018.
I have undergone treatment at the Rosemere Cancer Centre in Preston Royal Hospital for just over a year now. The staff there have always made me feel at ease. They always find the perfect balance between showing empathy, but never pity, which is an important distinction if you ask me, and their skill should never be overlooked.
I want to take this opportunity, now that I am back on my feet, to raise money for the Rosemere Centre, so that they can continue doing their life saving work.
Thank You
