10k Run for Age UK, 28 June 2020
Now more than ever, we need your donations to help us support, advise and offer friendship services to older people in Northumberland, many of whom have found themselves cut off from loved ones, the activities they live for and day to day company.

Story

The Great North 10k has been cancelled due to the coronavirus, so we have decided to still do a 10k run on the same date (28th June 2020) and we have a training plan which we are following from now until then.

We know it is tough times for everybody at the moment but we want to try and raise some money for Age UK, as we believe the elderly are particularly vulnerable and need the support now more than ever.

Many elderly people are currently unable to see family or friends, can't go to the shops or to get medicine, some may have nobody to care for them at all. We know that Age UK are working hard to ensure that the people in need are cared for both physically and personally with friendship and welfare calls, financial and welfare advice, and personal support. If we could help raise some money for this then we can rest at night.

We are also aware that many charities themselves are currently struggling, with shop closures and rent still to pay, and so many fundraising events cancelled, of which the charities rely on to run, making it even more difficult in these uncertain times.

If you are in a position to make a small donation it will be going to a great cause and will help make a difference to peoples lives.

Thank you

Aiden and Roisin
