After being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and latterly, acute myeloid leukaemia, for 2 years, Glynn was treated by the Haemotology Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
He attended the day clinic on Ward O2 each week for platelets and blood transfusions. The staff were always welcoming and treated him with great care and humour. Glynn was also admitted to Ward O1 three times during that period when he caught infections that needed specialist treatment. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the amazing team of consultants, doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff. He referred to going to both O1 and O2 as his 'safe place' as he knew he would be looked after so well.
In recognition of all the wonderful love and care he received , we are asking for donations for the department in Glynn's memory to say 'thank you' to them all.
Also, if you are able to, please consider giving an hour of your time to donate blood. It is a truly amazing gift which helps so many people to keep going as it did for Glynn.
