Story
As some of you know, I have parkinson's which affects my day-to-day life, but count myself very lucky that I can still do things I love like playing table tennis and tennis. Some aren't so lucky, and need care and support constantly. White Lodge is a fantastic charity which specialises in providing support for all those with physical disabilities and neurological conditions, but also for families and carers.
For White Lodge to run it services, it costs over £2.5 million a year. The costs of these services are not fully met by statutory funding, so rely heavily on voluntary donations to maintain these vital services and currently fundraise for over £560,000 per year.
With a lot major sponsorship events being cancelled, whether it be the London Marathon or private functions, it has left a huge gap in fundrasing. Therefore, smaller charities need our support more than ever to ensure people get the care and support they require.
Therefore, I am taking part in the 26.2 challenge where I will be playing 26.2 games of table tennis, so please sponsor me in any way you can. It doesn't matter how small or large it is but every penny will go towards helping White Lodge open their doors again to some of the most vulnerable and disabled people in our community.
