Story
When Amy suggested undertaking the West Highland Way I was totally supportive and we both decided we would use this opportunity as a fundraiser for charities close to our hearts.
I don't think anyone has a family or friend who hasn't had or been affected by cancer at some point in their lives. My Dad has recently recovered from bowel cancer, and has been very fortunate to be able to continue with a relatively normal life. Some people aren't so lucky, however if it wasn't for the support of Macmillan things might have been different. Their support was fundamental in my Dad's recovery; so really this walk is a tribute to them as well as to him. Just £17.50 can pay for one member of a cancer support group to go on a social event, if your feeling more generous....£350 could pay for a convalescent break for someone with cancer and their carer....if you've won the lottery then a donation of just £3,333 will pay for information and resources at a support centre for a year. Whatever your donation, it will be appreciated, and will keep us both spurred on when walking through the rain, clag and bog! Thank you.
