Story
As a result of some alcohol impaired decision making I have foolishly agreed to undertake the Three Peaks Challenge on the 14th June. Although, by and large, I have signed up to the "ignorance is bliss" philosophy with regard to scale of the task (others in the party have memorised ever last statistic). I do know that in order to complete the challenge I need to drag me, along with a slightly unhealthy layer of Dad fat up & down Ben Nevis, Scarfel Pyke & Mt Snowdon all within 24hrs, hopping from one mountain to the next in a car full of sore and probably very smelly feet. In the future all decisions will be made whilst sober!
In an effort to deflect the usual allegations from my wife of "You’re bloody well off enjoying yourself again, while I’m stuck at home with the kid", I have decided to keep her quite by raising some money for charity at the same time. Plus I get a free T-shirt!
I have decided to raise money for the Above & Beyond Appeal, specifically the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. Without getting all Bob Geldof the money raised will be used, amongst other things, to procure new medical equipment and enhance the facilities for babies & their families.
