Story
Please join me in a giving opportunity. You may know that I attended middle school in the "valley" as part of a new magent busing program to integrate schools in California. The busing program transported black and latino students to white schools and white students to schools made up of minority students. The purpose was to create more diverse classrooms and close achievement and opportunity gaps. Unfortunately busing was not a popular concept at the time and on my first day of school my bus was met with protetsting parents and community members that did not want black kids in their neighborhood schools. But, I am thankful that there were foundations and activist fighting on my behalf for social change and access to equal opportunity. Like those back in 1979 I have found a foundation that is fighting for social justice change in Los Angeles and bringing together a community of activists, leaders, donors and visionaries. Liberty Hill Foundation was founded 40+ years ago by 4 friends who pooled their money together.. Today I'm asking my friends to join me in this giving project and help give back to organizations in our community fighting for change. My money alone can do a little, but with your help our money can do a lot more. Please give from your heart. Help me raise $1200.
