The Magnolia Cup Ladies Race 2016 · 27 April 2016

World Vision believes that by working together with children, their communities, and our supporters and partners, the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children can be transformed. As a Christian organisation, we aspire to reflect God’s unconditional love in all we do.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

From its inception in 2011, the Magnolia Cup's key objective has always been to raise as much money as possible for female focused charities and in doing so, help raise their profile. In the last five years, the race has raised over £1M for some incredibly worthy causes. The aim is to take a cast of the most creative, successful and influential females in society today to help run a very special charity race for women, by women and with women who would take on the role of jockeys, silk designers and supporters. After a very successful five years, the Race Week Ball and Magnolia Cup race will be held again this year; the ball on Wednesday 27th July and the race on Thursday 28th July.

World Vision

This year, Goodwood are incredibly proud to support World Vision, the world's largest international children's charity. We believe that children living in the world's hardest places should be free from exploitation and abuse, and flourish in safe communities. Our vision is of a world in which every child has the chance to live life to the full; where they are loved, protected and cared for, and enjoy good health and an education. For this to become a reality, we work alongside communities in close to 100 countries to bring about long-term change; giving children a voice in the places where decisions are made and responding quickly to the emergencies that affect more than 250 million people around the world each year. As we do this, we focus on three key areas: child protection, child health and emergency response.

Girls' Education Challenge, Zimbabwe

This year, the funds raised will go specifically towards our Girls' Education Challenge project in Zimbabwe.

The barriers to girls' education in Zimbabwe range from long and potentially dangerous journeys to and from school, to coping with menstrual hygiene and the deep-rooted views and traditions of society.

Through the Girls' Education Challenge, there are solutions to these barriers - and you can make them happen.
