Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
The Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust - on behalf of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - would like to thank you for sponsoring me in completing the Berlin marathon on 28th September 2008. As a small charity the money has been warmly received and has gone to the purchase of a new piece of equipment for those suffering from COPD.
COPD is an 'umbrella' term for people with chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both. With COPD the airflow to the lungs is restricted (obstructed). About one million people in the UK have COPD. It mainly affects people over the age of 40. It accounts for more time off work than any other illness. A flare-up (exacerbation) of COPD is one of the commonest reasons for admission to hospital.
Thanks again
Glenn
