Story
The Lighthouse to Lighthouse Challenge is a 48km open water crossing to raise much needed funds and awareness for Gemma Edgar and Brain Tumour Research. The story began several years ago when Andy Relf approached me on Carbis bay beach and asked if I ran the Celtic Crossing, a 52km open water crossing from the Isle of Scillys to Sennen cove. Andy and his son Lee were none paddlers but wanted to raise much needed money for their daughter Gemma who had an aggressive brain tumour. As their support crew it was truly humbling to witness the gruelling feet these two achieved on that day. Today, Jack Coop (an none ski paddler) and I (Glenn Eldridge) will attempt to recreate Lee and Andy's valiant crossing on November 24th 2018 by paddling from St'Ives to Mother Ivy's Bay (near Padstow; 48km). Please give what you can, if you have followed what Gemma, her son and family have gone through they really do need all the help we can give. Thank you so much for helping in anyway possible either by donating or simply sharing Gemma's story.
