Story
Six of us will be taking on the national 3 peak challenge in 24 hours for Lymphoma Action charity. The challenge consists of climbing the 3 largest peaks in the uk - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdown. We will start our ascent of Ben Nevis at 08.30am on Saturday 25th September and complete our challenge when we descend Snowdown the following morning (we hope).
We have chosen Lymphoma Action charity as they helped our very good friend and work collegeue Darren beat the awful disease and make a full recovery.
Back in October 2020 Darren was diagnosed the blood cancer and for a guy that has always been fit and well this came as a huge shock to him and his family. Darren went on to endure 8 tough months of intensive Chemo therapy and treatment. Due the massive help and support from the team at Southampton general hospital Darren returned to work in May 2021. As a thank you we would like to raise money for lymphoma action the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people affected by lymphoma.
Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma. We’re here for everyone affected by lymphoma. https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/
