Story
Weʼre raising £1,500 to Assist asylum seekers to find a route out of destitution and resolve their situation.
The Destitute Asylum Seeker Service (DASS) assists refused asylum seekers who are known as ARE (Appeal Rights Exhausted) to find a route out of destitution and resolve their situation. Refugees who use this service are destitute and have no rights to public funds. The service is led by Refugee Survival Trust which works in partnership with Scottish Refugee Council, British Red Cross, University of Strathclyde Law Clinic, Glasgow Night Shelter, Fasgadh, and Arise & Walk.
The funds that we are raising will provide much needed support to DASS clients in the following ways:
Holistic needs assessment.
Information and advice about rights and entitlements.
Casework support.
Support with collecting destitution evidence for Section 4 applications.
Access to Refugee Survival Trust destitution and travel grants.
