Story

*** Half Marathon - Fund Raiser ***

My good friend Edd had a second brother (William) who unfortunately passed away in 2000 from cancer. Since then Edd and his family have managed to raise an astounding amount (£901,300) with the goal of making it to that well rounded £1,000,000. All your money goes directly to the Childhood Cancer Research Fund which is under the umbrella of the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Funds...The William Dodd Foundation research post is run by Dr Helen Townley & Dr Karl Morten following the retirement of Dr Mitchell. They are conducting ground breaking research into Childhood Cancers.

To help raise money I'm competing in the Hull Half Marathon (2nd June) however this year I'll be ditching the fancy dress and aiming for a competitive time. I also have £50 a personal bet with a friend who is also running in which we will donate to the person finishing the full 21km quickest.

Finally I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who donates in advance, on behalf of myself, Edd and his family. Let's get a little closer to that £1 million!

Fun Fact: Since my last half marathon (2015) donations for Williams fund donations have increased from £605,315. to  £901,300!
