Story
Beginning last month, Michael and I committed to donating $100 a month for the next 12 months to Hand in Hand for Syria, one of the last remaining non-profits working on the ground in Syria. They provide food, medical care, clothing and assistance to the areas in Syria that need it most. We selected this organization after a great deal of research. We wanted to help people stuck in Syria, and we wanted to support an organization that was local but that was also well vetted and reputable. We wanted 100% of our dollars to go to people in need. We wanted to make sure our donation made an impact. Hand in Hand for Syria met all of these criteria.
Jens Laerke, a spokesman for the United Nations office coordinating emergency relief called the events in Aleppo over the past 24 hours “a complete meltdown of humanity.”
The United States government, and governments across the globe have failed to act over the past five years and have been complicit in the Syrian holocaust. They don't give a fuck. Do you?
This morning, Hand in Hand for Syria issued a rare emergency appeal. They are seeking additional funds to help families fleeing east Aleppo. They have raised $14,000 euros of their $20k goal. Can we help them get across the finish line? Your $5.00 goes DIRECTLY to someone on the ground in need. If we raise $500 from friends, we will match your gifts and send $1000 to the people Aleppo.
It's time to give a fuck.
