Story

Turn a stocking filler into a donation this Christmas!

This year Give up a Gift for Africa by replacing just one of your child's, friend's or family's stocking filler gifts with a donation to The African Children's Choir.

Giving up a gift for Africa will not only help us educate more vulnerable African children, it will also teach your loved ones the importance of giving this Christmas.

Help us create ChangeMakers for the future of Africa and Give up a Gift today.

Replace just one gift with a donation now and help us reach more vulnerable African children in-need.

Donate today and you will receive a link to our printable Christmas card via the Just Giving confirmation email. Print it off, and put it into your loved ones stocking as a thank you – replacing the gift they have so kindly given up.

Money raised by the Give up a Gift for Africa campaign will go towards both The African Children’s Choir programme, and the many other essential programmes run by Music for Life.

Music for Life is the official fundraising charity of The African Children’s Choir and works in seven African countries. Music for Life have educated over 52,000 children as well as impacting the lives of over 100,000 children through its relief and development programmes during its 28 year history; creating ChangeMakers for the future of Africa.

The African Children's Choir travels the world, acting as the ambassador for Africa's most in need children - raising much needed awareness and funds for the education of the continent’s most vulnerable children, as well as their own education, as they go. They have performed on popular television programmes such as The One Show and Andrew Marr Show and at prestigious concerts such as Live Aid and Live 8.

The funds raised will help children like Robert Kalyesubula, who was part of the 2nd African Children’s Choir. Robert was out of school when he joined the choir as a young boy, sharing a house with 10 other children with no food or clothes. Thanks to the education paid for by the choir programme, Robert is now a doctor, with a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine, and is now working in the village he was born in. The programmes Music for Life run change lives and you can help change more!

Talking about the Give up a Gift for Africa campaign, Ray Barnett, Founder and CEO of the African Children’s Choir said “We are very excited about the launch of our Christmas campaign Give up a Gift for Africa, not only are we seeking to raise much needed funds to educate more vulnerable African children, we also hope to emphasise the importance of giving amongst a new generation.”
