Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our dear friend Bryan bravely battled pancreatic cancer for 6 months but sadly passed away on 8th September. Pancreatic cancer is one of the only cancers that has had no improvement in the survival rate in the last 40 years. It is difficult to diagnose, treat and many have never heard of pancreatic cancer so are unaware of the low survival rate and lack of research.
In his memory we are continuing his fight by spreading the word about this terrible cancer and helping to raise funds to support research. I had promised Bryan I would raise funds by doing a Mountain climb.
On the 8 September I set off to Medjugorje in Bosnia Herzegovina to climb Mount Krizevac (see photo). Some call it a hill only 520m but over the last 5 years of my visiting Bosnia, with fellow pilgrims, I’ve cried off climbing it. It’s hugely terrifying and definitely a mountain to me.
My Friends Pat and Linda are veteran climbers of this particular mountain (every year since 1992) and offered to go up with me.
On Monday 12th September I reached the top with the wonderful support from all who donated and sent messages of encouragement. The generousity shown has been heartwarming and I know Bryan and his family found it overwhelming.
I would be extremely grateful if you could show your support by donating any amount you can, to go towards the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
