This year I'm swimming for Team Domenica to help young people with learning disabilities find paid employment and reach their full potential. Just 5.1% of people with learning disabilities are in work in England. Team Domenica is a charity based in Brighton & Hove that supports young people with learning disabilities to build the skills, confidence and independence they need to find paid work. What they are doing is working - 84% of their candidates progressing into employment through their programmes. "My experiences helped me get my job at the Grand.... It was good [working with my job coach]. She helped me to do the saucers and cups and a few weeks later, she stepped back a bit and let me be independent...
