My recent trip to India was an emotional journey for me and I have decided it's time to contribute to one of the charities that supports my reasons for doing this and other personal experience.

Barnardo's works with homeless families as well as young people who are homeless or living in insecure accommodation. Also, Barnardo's aims to reduce the impact of poverty on children, young people, families and communities through social, economic and community action.

Furthermore, Barnardo’s runs projects and schemes across the country supporting children, young people and families where abuse has happened. These may offer therapy and counselling to help children come to terms with what has happened to them and move forward in life, and offer support to non-abusing parents to help them protect their children in future. Many services also help support children through court proceedings when perpetrators are prosecuted.

They also work to increase public awareness of sexual abuse and to help children and young people protect themselves.

Another reason I feel this is a great charity is because of their work to support individuals with mental health issues.

Barnardo's services work with children and young people who have mental health difficulties. They run centres where children and young people can come and make sure that they have a worker they can trust and who they can talk to. They help them build their confidence and to address the root of their difficulties. They also work with their parents, making sure that parents feel supported. And stay in close touch with other professionals.
