Story
Helloo and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be taking part in a charity skydive on the 1st October to hopefully raise as much money as possible for the Kenya Children's Trust.
A little info on what the money raised will be for:
The project is based in Gataka, a growing shanty town on the outskirts of Nairobi. Living conditions here are extremely harsh with a high rate of alcoholism, crime, prostitution, rape, HIV and Aids.
Because of this many of the children are orphans or come from single parent families, children as young as 3 are forced to fend for themselves. The aim of the trust is to protect the most vulnerable children in Gataka from the rape, crime, alcoholism and violence that is prevalent on the streets of this town.
By working in collaboration with a local self-help group, the Kenya Children’s Trust aim to develop a community owned and run school to provide the children with an education and a means of escaping the poverty into which they were born. The initial aim is to educate a group of 60 nursery school children, in time the project will expand to a primary school which will be self sustaining through income generating projects.
Not a single member of The Kenya Children’s Trust takes a wage so every pound you donate will go directly to bettering the lives of the children they work with.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
