We fund the best neurological research to improve the lives of those affected.

Story

Exactly one year ago a beloved member of my team Nick Blake died aged 27 from a brain anneurism. And on the same day, one of my oldest friends Smartie was told her son aged 3 weeks had “something wrong with his brain”.

Knowledge about the brain seems to lag behind other areas of medicine. The Brain Research Trust is actively looking for better diagnoses, treatments and cures for a whole range of neurological disorders such as stroke, dementia, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy.

My team colleagues at Channel 4 have done an amazing series of events to help raise funds. So I, on maternity leave, have been out training four times a week since my son Luke was 12 weeks old.

I will be running the London Marathon (my first ever) in memory of Nick, and alongside Smartie, to raise funds for the Brain Research Trust.

The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It controls our emotions, senses and actions. So when it breaks down, we break down. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected. Let’s unite to accelerate progress. Today.
