Today I took part in the Breathing Matters Bike Ride at Richmond Park. This was in memory of a wonderful man, Patrick O'Sullivan known to me as Daddy, who sadly lost his life to IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) in 2012.  

IPF is one of many types of interstitial lung disease.
'Interstitial' means the disease affects the 'interstitium, a lace-like network of tissue that supports the alveoli (air sacks) in your lungs. 
'Idiopathic' means the cause of the condition is not known.
