Story
Since my wonderful husband, Dave, lost his life to a brain tumour in March 2012 I've found out all sorts of things about brain tumours that I never really wanted to know. Things such as the fact that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults (especially men) below the age of 40. Despite this, less than 2% of all cancer research money is spent on brain tumours even though brain cancer is now the only cancer to be increasing in real terms. So, I'm now doing all I can to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity in the hope they can find a cure for this most dreadful of diseases. Not only did it deprive Dave of many years of life, laughter and achievement but I don't want any more people to have to go through what Dave and I went through.
I've already done one trek in Dave's name to the High Atlas Mountains. It was very tough and I didn't think I'd ever do another, but....well, life is too short to sit around moping so I'm off again. This time to the Pyrenees to trek the Freedom Trail. I'm paying my own way to do five days of very hard walking way up in the mountains, across snow fields and scree slopes but hoping to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity. So, if you've read this far and would like to contribute to my collection I'd be delighted and very grateful.
