My 28 year old son was born deafblind and needs constant support and care. Without the amazing support of Sense he would not be the confident, adventurous and spirited individual he has become. 

From personal experience I know the huge, positive impact Sense can have on the lives of deafblind people and their families. It is with the help and support of Sense that the long, desperate struggle to achieve an independent life for my son has been realised.

I now have time to direct my energies to prepare myself physically and mentally for this challenge and, although it cannot be compared to the challenges faced by deafblind people and their families every day, it is a gesture of thanks from me on behalf of my family. 

My fundraising for Sense will support the development of a much needed new centre based in Birmingham which will meet the needs of more children, young people and the growing population of older deafblind people.
