Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am hoping to race my boat, a J109, with a team entitled "Challenge Breast Cancer" in the second annual Womens Open Keelboat Championship, held in the Solent on the first weekend of July.

Breast Cancer Care is the nominated charity and I support their work wholeheartedly! I work as a Consultant Oncologist specialising in breast cancer research and treatment, and have been involved in this area for 30 years. My own family has been touched by the experiences of breast cancer and I am committed to treating and helping others live life to the full....

I trained in Medicine at Southampton when it was a brand new medical school, and cut my teeth sailing during this time. I have sailed ever since, and am currently on to "boat no.4", a brilliant J109 racing machine, which I own and sail with  my partner, Richard Sainsbury, a Consultant Surgeon, who also specialises in breast cancer, based between Southampton and London. We are racing with our crew in all the major regattas this year, but only ladies can compete in WOKC.......

I will be updating this page with some of our photos of the team in training, so watch this space!
