Hugh & Mags Forgie planned to cycle from Glasgow to the big toe of Italy (2000 miles) in July to raise funds for POG-LRC. Sadly, Hugh died of leukaemia before he could complete this and in his memory, the POG team are planning to cover the 2000 miles with lots of activities in July, to raise money for leukaemia research.

I work as a clinical lecturer in the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre (POG-LRC) and see daily how vital research into blood cancer is in enabling successful treatment outcomes. The POG team are raising vital funds to help make the lives of leukaemia patients better through the discovery of better treatments and I am excited to contribute to this challenge. 

To help raise money which will support the research we do in POG-LRC, I will cycle 200 miles in the month of July! I am scared of cycling on the road and live in the centre of Glasgow - it's a big challenge!
