Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My dearest Wife & sole-mate Gillian Addison, née Methven (Gillzy) sadly passed away on the 16th of September 2020 after a short battle with cancer.

Within just a few weeks of Gillian feeling a little unwell the family and I found ourselves having to take full-time care of Gillian as it was discovered she had bowel cancer which had already spread and taken over her liver and the outlook wasn't looking good.

In the days running up to her passing, we were able to accommodate Gillian at home rather than in Hospital. Which meant she was able to be comfortable at home with family rather than in a hospital ward.

The help we received from Marie Curie during this time was amazing. Including call-outs through the night and we were fortunate to have a Marie Curie nurse stay overnight for the last two nights in an attempt to give me a rest. The nurses helped us every step of the way to ensure Gillian was well looked after & comfortable during her final days with us.

We asked for donations at her funeral which raised a significant amount of funds for Marie Curie. Therefore we have decided to create this just-giving page to allow more people who were not able to attend the funeral to help raise funds for the much-needed charity.

Thank you for all your help! Gillian would be blown away by the support we have all received!
