Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will already know that in January we lost one of the youngest members of our family, Jessica Monks
Jessica was my cousins beautiful, kind, fun loving, giggly, and intelligent granddaughter. Jessica was 18 years old and had epilepsy from a young age. Although this was at times a struggle, Jessica never let it hold her back she loved to run, swim, and coached younger children at taekwondo. Jessica was working in a lawyers’ office and was looking forward to starting university after the summer.
At the beginning of the year Jessica was having a lot of problems with her epilepsy and her medication, this caused her to become seriously unwell and tragically she died on 24th January.
Jessica was much loved by everyone who knew her and is missed by us all.
Following her death her Mum, Susan, has brought to our attention the charity SUDEP Action (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy). Jessica’s mum, dad and some for her friends are running the British 10k in London in July to raise awareness for this great charity. I would also like to try and do something to help so Dave and I will be climbing our first Munro on 25th April to try and raise some money and a lot of awareness for SUDEP Action.
This will not be easy for me, I love walking but my catch phrase is “I don’t do hills”. So this challenge is in honour / memory Jessica.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you are able to donate every little helps and is much appreciated.
