Hi Peeps,
I am running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 27 of May 2012! Its only 13.5 miles and the organisers describe it as ‘flat and fast!’ so nothing to worry about!
I am running on behalf of Parkinson’s UK. This charity is dedicated to conducting research into this progressive neurological condition. The charity is also trying to find a cure for this disease. ‘We're the largest charity funder of Parkinson's research in the UK. Major advances have come from research we've supported – helping to improve treatment and care for people living with Parkinson's, both within the UK and worldwide. So far, we've invested more than £50million in groundbreaking research.’ Quote from the Parkinson’s UK website.
I am running this half marathon in memory of my Grandfather who suffered with this disease. At the time of my grandfather being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, charities such as this were not in place. It is great to know that now people faced with this condition have a place to turn for help and advise and that a potential cure will be found one day.
By running in this event I am hoping to raise £250 for Parkinson’s UK. I am very grateful in advance to any sponsorship that I receive for this great cause.
Thanks very much everyone
