Story
Hi Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran the Belfast Marathon on 2 May 2011 in 4 hours 23 minutes!! I'm trying to raise as much money as I can for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This is a charity that does fantastic work for MS sufferers in Northern Ireland and your donation will be put to very good use and improve the quality of life for many.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system. It is the most common disabling neurological disease among young adults and affects over 4500 people in Northern Ireland. MS is most often diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40 (though it can be earlier or later). Women are almost twice as likely as men to develop MS, and in rare cases it affects children. Once diagnosed, MS stays with the person for life.
The MS Society Northern Ireland is the leading person centered charity providing information, advice, emotional, practical and where appropriate financial support to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis in Northern Ireland. The MS Society is committed to making a real difference – to improving the quality of life and long term outcomes for individuals and families affected by MS.
The MS Society Northern Ireland receives no government funding and relies on the generosity and support of the general public and corporate supporters.
So please dig deep and donate now.
If you are one of the generous people who have already sponsored me, thank you very very much!
