My husband and Dad to Emma and Ben was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 6 years ago at the age of 49. We were told it was an incurable cancer but treatable. It’s not particularly well known and the average GP will only see one case in their career. From then on it was relentless - chemotherapy, radiotherapy, two stem cell transplants, bone marrow biopsies etc.
He was so courageous and never once complained- just quietly did what was needed. He relapsed 5 times and then this year we were told there was no more treatment available. Sadly on the 12th September he passed away in his sleep at home where he wanted to be.
I’m raising money for Blackpool Victoria Hospital who have been amazing throughout. The haematology unit and ward e have been amazing. His wish was that his fight and their dedication would help to raise some funds.
Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated .
Thank you
