I am very excited to be taking part in the 2018 Ride Across Britain, Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride.   The journey is 980 miles over 9 days.  This is going to be a significant challenge for me, both the distance and the weather. If the weather in the Lake District and Scotland does its stuff we are likely to get cold and wet!.  If that was not enough, there will be additional hardship, as we will be camping every night, but we will be supported and looked after with meals cooked and the tents put up for us.

Despite this, it took me less than one second to decide to join this challenge as I love cycling and I love the British countryside.  So I hope this will bring me great joy : ), as well as the pain! and at the same time raise some money for good cause.

I have the great honour of being allowed to join a team called the Paxton’s Pedallers.  We are cycling to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation.  Meningitis and Septicaemia are dangerous diseases which can kill in hours.   Some of those who survive have life changing disabilities.  A number of our team members' children have been personally affected by Meningitis. 

The Meningitis Research Foundation provide life-saving information and fund vital medical research into the diseases.  Any donation you make will help to support the amazing work the Meningitis Research Foundation continue to do.
