Story
'How do I propel myself in a wheelchair while holding a cup of tea'? 'How do I get up and down a curb from a standing start without falling on my face'? 'How do I make this thing move without hurting my shoulders'?'
These are just a few of the questions that 'The Back Up Trust' helped my lovely college friend, Tim Hames, to find answers to. In the summer of 2011Tim was suddenly facing his future where using his legs was no longer an option.
Specialists from 'The Back Up Trust' came to visit him in hospital, provided training, counselling and mentoring services to help get him up and about again. They helped him back to having independance, back to playing sport and back to work in his Pharmacy.
I had never heard of 'The Back Up Trust' before, and maybe you haven't either. I guess because we are fortunate enough not to need their services. But for those that do they make life worth living.
Please give your support to 'The Back Up Trust' so that they can support more wheelchair users and their families to enjoy an active and independant life.
Thank You. Gill
