Story
The Wobbleberry Challenge: “To encourage middle aged, wimpy riders to challenge themselves to compete in a British Eventing (BE)80cm Event in the autumn of 2017” i.e. Dressage, Show Jumping (80cm) and Cross Country (around 1.5 miles with 80cm ‘natural’type jumps).
The Inspiration: Hannah Francis, a talented 17 year old Eventer who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (an aggressive bone cancer) in May 2015 and tragically lost her battle in August this year.
My story:
What is a Wobbleberry??
A shy, elusive creature, the wobbleberry's natural habitat is spectating at BE events, and supporting other riders - but all this is about to change!!!
Key Characteristics:
- not currently fit enough to get round a cross country course
- not currently brave enough to get round a cross country course
- old enough to know better, and know that this will hurt!
- dedicated - to raising money, to training, and conquering the fear
- supportive of each other - aiming to be weeble-esque, "we wobble, but we don't fall down".
I started out with plans to compete with my own wonder pony Alice however she is not big enough so I've had to borrow Bounty from my bestie. Unlike me Bounty is brave as a bear when it comes to jumping so together we really hope to smash our target together and make it through the day, staying in the dressage arena for a start (eek). ''2 hearts 1 dream''
