Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well the London Marathon 2011 is now done on a very hot day in the capital. I started off at a reasonable pace despite it being hard to overtake due to the numbers of runners. Meeting Sarah & the kids halfway was a great "pick me up" at half way and I felt I would kick on from there, however the trip round Canary Wharf a few miles later and my legs were feeling like concrete so I know my target time of 4hrs 30 mins was in jeapordy. I carried on my weary way with great support from the crowd but I had slowed up considerably and finally saw the finish line in bang on 5hrs. I felt a great sense of achievement but would definitely like to return in 2012 as I know I can beat this time.
Thank you for all your donations to a very worthy cause, I need to get to £2,500 to raise my pledge for Breakthrough so please donate if you wanted to but have not got round to it yet.
Best wishes
Giles
