Story
The Pateman family will be attempting a sporting challenge to raise money in memory of Sarah Gostick, a lovely friend and mother of 4 who died earlier this year. This weekend - 30th August 2014, we will be aiming to cover over 300km between us by biking, swimming, running and rowing. Hannah, Elysia, Sophia and Tahlia are aiming to run 3km and swim as much as possible! Meanwhile Giles is aiming to complete 200km cycle, 42km run, 42km row and 8km swim (which is just about 2 x long-distance quadrathlons). The route will start near Newbury, where Sarah grew up, and travel up to her student home in Coventry and Leamington before finishing in her family home at Great Gransden.
Our chosen charity is Watoto - a charity close to Sarah's heart. Sarah's aim was to raise enough money to build an Orphanage in Uganda. Sadly this was not to be and her family and friends are aiming to complete her wish of raising the necessary funds. We would like to help contribute the their target of £25,000 to complete Sarah's Wish.
