Tough Mudder - London West 2017 · 16 September 2017 ·

We fund the Slough Winter Night Shelter to give shelter & food to rough sleepers

Story

Gilbey House have been working alongside and supporting the London & Slough Run for a couple of years, and we wanted to do something towards raising funds for the charity.

On Friday 5th May, over half the boarding house will taking part in a 'Sleep Out' on the school playground for a night to experience just a little of what it is like to be homeless in the UK. We will be outside for a full night; whatever the weather and however cold it gets!

Just two days later, a dozen of the Gilbey boarders and staff are taking on the challenge of a Tough Mudder race - 12 miles and 20+ obstacles including ice-baths, 10,000 volt electric wires and gallons of mud! We may never be the same again... Take a look here.

If you are able, please do sponsor us to complete these two challenges. No donation is too big or small, and can help make a real difference to the lives of people in our local community.

Thank you!

About the charity

We started in the mid 1980's and provide soup runs for the homeless and disadvantaged in London and Slough. In 2014 we started a winter night shelter in Slough. We began a food share program in 2020 collecting from supermarkets and distributing to a number of local Charities every day.
