Story
2019 is a special year for Gibsons, as it marks 100 years since we first began trading as a British, family business back in 1919. Originally a games company, we first introduced jigsaws in the 1980s and after almost 40 years, we are proud to be the no.1 performing manufacturer in adult puzzles*.
To celebrate this momentous milestone, the Gibsons team have invented #Gibsons100, a scheme that encourages every Gibsons member to take part in a challenge or act of kindness to commemorate the 100 years of Gibsons. The plan is to undertake 100 challenges for 100 years of bringing games and puzzles to the UK, for example, Kate is doing a 100m abseil, Bob, Mark and Adam are doing a 100-mile cycle, lots of the team (including Elvin) are taking part in a Toy's Trust triathlon and Ros, Anne, Carrie, Sam, Kim and Kat are doing the Thames Bridge Trek.
We have chosen to support Jigsaw4U as they help children and young people cope with bereavement, domestic abuse, child sexual exploitation, and other social and emotional issues. Helping children and young people put the pieces back together since 1997; Jigsaw4u is an established local charity, committed to giving vulnerable children a voice.
Gibsons first learned about the work of Jigsaw4U over 18 months ago and were immediately moved by the challenges their young people are facing. We are delighted to have made them our charity of the year. Coming together as a team to take on this challenge is what Gibsons is all about. By working together, we hope to raise as much as we can and help make a real difference to vulnerable children in our community.
