Story
Laura Burns and I have had a week of immense sadness.
It wasn’t until we began to dress on Sunday January 27th, that we realized we were putting on clothes to meet our beautiful little girl “Grace” for the first and last time. Her heart was too big for her little body. We’ve done sadness, we’ve done awkward, done grief and now all we want in the world is hope, happiness, friendship and support for those who helped us. Help us find joy by being joyful yourself.
During the worst week of our lives the people of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London and Lister Hospital gave us every hope and chance in the world, supporting us through the saddest days we, like many others never hoped to experience. They did it all with the most brilliant minds, but most importantly: compassion and grace.
If you see us, please don’t feel sad, please don’t feel awkward. Just be the positive friends we know and love.
If you can, and only if you can, please consider donating even the smallest amount to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in honor of our beautiful little one Grace Burns-Ott, or to your favorite local children hospital. This is thankless work, done by the kindest people.
This incredibly important hospital directly supports children going through the most undeserved hardships. They kept us sane in the worst times and climbed mountains to do so. We're forever grateful.
With heavy hearts filled with love, hope and Grace,
Laura and Gib
