Hi all,

It’s been an incredibly tough race but I am so very have happy I finished in 3hrs 25 mins, which is my personal best and also – considering I arrived around the 3500^th position and 36,000 started, puts me in the top 10% of the field. That isn’t quite as top-10, but I am very very pleased with the result, and very proud to have done my best for Greenpeace.

I got a bit bottled up in the slow part of the pack in the first 4 miles, so I had to make up for that later on, and that made it hard. In fact, my satellite watch tells me I actually run nearly 27 miles instead of the 26.2! So, in this case, the expression “running the extra mile” couldn’t be more appropriate (nearly). Spectators were simply incredible and supported us throughout the course. Although I was tired in the second part of the race, I really gave it my all in the last 4 miles. I think people could see that and I guess I don’t exaggerate by saying that Greenpeace received a cheer about every 20 meters. This was exactly the point I wanted to make, so I think the mission was accomplished. Pato and Male also shouted a big cheer 200 meters from the end, but I was so focused I simply couldn’t hear them! Now, time to start to the next event. I’ll keep you posted, something special may come.
