In August a team of 6 from Holy Trinity Brompton will be going to Ghana to run a Global Alpha Training () event. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten weeks and this is run in churches all over the world. The vision for the programme is to "release Alpha expertise to train people in regions yet to run courses" and the event will cover training on how to run Alpha in the delegates' context looking at ways to develop Alpha in Ghana. We will be running a 3 day event in Ho, Ghana, where we will be training delegates from nearby churches.
Additionally we will also be visiting an Orphanage in Ho and would love to bring gifts to the children there with your help. Finally we will be visiting a project run by the charity Compassion in Accra. Compassion UK is a charity which offers sponsorship of children in deprived areas around the world. See webpage www.compassionuk.org for further details. Once again we would love to help the children in the Compassion project in Accra with your help.
The trip is part of bigger vision organised by Alpha International where teams from all over the world will travel to run 250 training events in over 35 countries training up 7500 delegates to run 2400 courses! Take a look at the video on http://www.alphafriends.org/gat/global-alpha-training to learn more about the vision for the project. The team need to fundraise around £6,000 to cover flights and other travel costs immunisations accommodation and food and everything else so every prayer and penny would be gratefully received. Many thanks for your support. Joanna Hasler, Sarah Land, Kate Guest, Gordon Milnes, Rob Troy and Louise Woolnough
