The Sick Children's Trust house (Acorn House) in Cambridge meant my family and friends could be near me all the time I was in hospital. It made a huge difference to me and to them. Will you help me raise money so they can help other families?
My hair is falling out so I am going to shave it off. So is my Daddy. And my brother. Then we will all look the same. Some of my friends want to do it too. Will you sponsor us? How many people do you think will shave their heads with me? You could just donate some money or you could gamble and sponsor per shaved head! (I think maybe 30, maybe more). I will post "before and after" photos on my blog (http://getwellsoonjoe.blogspot.com) or in my web photo album (http://picasaweb.google.com/getwellsoonjoe/ShavedHeads).
If you want to shave your head too, let me know and send me the photos to jjohns2006@tiscali.co.uk. See if you can get yourself sponsored by friends and family and work -colleagues to do it. If you get into any trouble or embarassing situations because of it, let me know and I'll post your story on my blog. (My uncle once went to an interview with a hat because of a haircut mistake, but he got the job).
I want to raise money for Clic-Sargent and for the Paediatric Oncology Ward too, but that will have to come from funds raised off-line, as this page can only give to one charity. Acorn House was the thing that made the most difference of all to us.
(This bit is from the site:) Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Sick Children's Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
