Story
However, due to the times we're in, the event has been postponed to later in the year. So, at 08:30 on Saturday 4th April I will be running a marathon in the relative 'comfort' of my back garden. I've marked out a 50m long course so 844 laps should do it! My wife Jo and son Sonny plan to run 200 laps each (10K) and my daughter Kitty will be manning the food, drink, jelly baby, high five station.
If you can spare a few quid, your donations would be hugely appreciated. If you'd rather help people in your own local community then that is just as important. Most supermarkets and community centres seem to have a food bank collection area so why not pop a few items in there next time you shop.
I'll post an update on Saturday afternoon with photos and videos.
Thank you

About the charity
Every day people in the Horsham District go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy through illness, benefit delay, domestic violence, debt, family breakdown and paying for the additional costs of heating during winter, to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. The Horsham District Foodbank provides a minimum of three days' emergency food to people experiencing a crisis. All food is donated by the public and sorted by volunteers. Vouchers are issued by some front-line care professionals, a housing association, Horsham Matters and CAB Horsham to those identified as being in crisis. Clients receive three days of nutritionally balanced , non-perishable food in exchange for the voucher. We also make time to chat and signpost clients to other helpful services. The Horsham District Foodbank is delivered by Horsham Matters and any funds donated to support the foodbank will go specifically towards the cost of running the project.
