Story
This has been an on / off year for me and the London Marathon. I was due to run it in April 2020 and then it was postponed due to Covid-19. I did not plan to run the rescheduled date of 4th October, but when it was changed to a Virtual London Marathon I just couldn't resist. With 5 weeks notice I am going for it! This will be my 10th London Marathon, and my 39th marathon overall.
My training has had to take place whilst I have been working on board the Cunard Liner the Queen Mary 2 - I have run many laps of the promenade deck in the small hours of the morning to get ready for London. See photo gallery.
In the meantime the date for the Royal Parks Half Marathon has been moved to Sunday 11th April 2021. At the moment I'm not sure if I will be on land or sea at that time. Here's hoping - this will be by first time running the Royal Parks so I'm quite excited.
I am delighted to be supporting Leonard Cheshire - supporting individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, we are at the heart of local life - opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe.Leading by example, we do everything humanly possible to empower people to live their lives a freely and as fully as they choose.
