Story
Come and join Gerry And The Notes at The Earl Spencer Pub to raise money and awareness for Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). The event is being held in aid of Tom, 2½ years old born with PWS, who is a nephew of one of the singers in the band. The evening will be filled with a medley of contemporary tunes performed by Gerry and The Notes, a raffle, and a few other fund raising games. Tickets for the evening cost £5 - thank you for buying your ticket via donation on Justgiving. This charity receives no government funding and relies ENTIRELY on personal donations.
What is PWS? - PWS is a rare, complex genetic disorder, which is present from birth and continues throughout life. In 95% of cases it is not hereditary and can thus occur in any family. People with PWS are challenged by an untreatable, insatiable appetite resulting in almost constant feelings of hunger, together with immature physical and emotional development. Most have learning disabilities. The name of the syndrome is derived from the names of the two doctors who first described the pattern of characteristics associated with PWS in 1965.
