Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son and best mate Jack, aged just 19, lost his year long fight with Rhabdomyosarcoma, in 2016. It seems like only yesterday. This is a rare and aggressive cancer which affects mainly children and teenagers. Outcomes are generally poor, really poor.
When the doctors told Jack that they could no longer cure him, he launched a fund to raise money to support research in the hope that it would help others like him in the future. We continue Jack's fundraising which to date has raised more than £100,000. This September I will be joined by a group of eight very dedicated supporters and together we will be proud to ride from London to Paris, as Team Jack. I’m self funding, so every single penny donated will go to the researchers.
Comparatively little funding goes towards research into Children's cancers, because they're relatively rare. We've since learned that there have been no significant changes in the treatment Jack received since 1971. So donations from people like you and me, are vital if we are ever to beat these cancers. Cancer is cruel, but cancer in children is even more so. We are raising money to support the work of the ICR's Molecular Pathology team. They carry out valuable research which may help bring about kinder, more effective treatments for Rhabdomyosarcoma. If anyone is going to make a breakthrough it's going to be through this kind of crucial research.

This ride is going to be tough. Averaging 80 very hilly miles a day for four consecutive days. But it's nowhere near as tough as the challenge facing these children. Please Help Jack to give these kids hope in the future.
If you could spare even a small donation we would be so grateful. Thank you.
