Story
Four years ago, the Chief Executive of The Christie, Caroline Shaw, decided as a keen runner herself that she was going to take part in the Great Manchester Run to show her support alongside all the many thousands of runners who were taking part in the Manchester 10k in aid of The Christie. She then persuaded some of her contemporaries to join her, convincing them that it would be a great way to show leadership and inspire others. So in 2010, The Chief’s Race was born and it has been gaining strength ever since with North West business leaders coming on board to show their support.
This year I am taking part in the Chief’s Race on Sunday 26 May.
We are all asked to raise a minimum of £2,000 in sponsorship to support the ground-breaking work at The Christie, a leading centre of expertise in cancer care, research and education.
I look forward to taking part in the race - a personal challenge for me and an opportunity to represent Hill Dickinson as part of the Manchester business leaders community committed to helping raise funds for The Christie.
Like many people my family and friends have suffered from cancer and my Uncle Terry is currently being treated at The Christie. I therefore know firsthand what an amazing place it is but it really needs our support so please help me to raise the much needed money to help them to keep doing their good work.
