Georgina's Sarcoma fundraising page

Thank you for visiting my page raising funds for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
In March 2023, after feeling unwell and with a back ache - my beloved Mother Jane was diagnosed with a large retro perineal LipoSarcoma cancer the size of almost a football but hidden in her abdomen behind her left kidney
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
On May 15th 2023, and full of hope and a cure, she undertook the gold standard of treatment, but after 7 hours of surgery we were all totally shocked that the operation was aborted because the surgeon, was unable to remove 'even an inch' of this ghastly tumour which had embedded itself into every part of my Mother's abdomen and surrounding organs and blood vessels. Overnight, this seemingly self contained tumour became a terminal diagnosis and we brought our darling Mother home to spend the last weeks of her life with us, in as much comfort as we could provide.
Our beautiful Mummy, Jane passed away on the 29th July at 5.30pm, surrounded by more love than anyone could wish for, in the peace of her home with her family at her side. Our lives are changed forever.
Thank you for donation which will help researchers find answers, keep the Sarcoma Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
On behalf of us all, thank you.
