Fundraising for Sue Ryder
Two sisters, raising money in memory of two sisters
Sue Ryder are the most amazing charity who have supported our family with kindness through the toughest of times. Their care allowed our Mum Alison and Aunt Eve to be surrounded by family at home in an environment that was safe, comfortable, dignified and full of love.
You won't know what Sue Ryder do until you need them ... and then you don't know what you would have done without them.
Now more than ever charities need our help and so we are going to attempt this 2 day, 100k challenge along the Cotswold Way.
Any sponsorship you can give is greatly appreciated!
About Sue Ryder:
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
Leckhampton Court Hospice:
It costs around £5.1million a year to run Leckhampton Court Hospice. With all their events cancelled in 2020 as well as so many of their community fundraising initiatives and the prolonged closure of their 450 high street shops, your support would provide much needed resources to keep palliative end of life care available to those who need it. Care for a single patient costs £21 an hour and Leckhampton Court is the only Inpatient Unit in Gloucestershire providing specialist palliative care. They are also playing a vital role in the Coronavirus effort and want to continue using their skills, expertise and experience to help in the months and years ahead and continue to relieve pressure on the NHS. We can't stop caring.
Duchess of Kent Hospice:
Provides expert palliative care and support for people across Berkshire who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families. It costs around £5.7m to run the hospice each year. The Coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the hospice’s funding with Fundraising events cancelled and the closure of Sue Ryder shops. The hospice’s doctors, Sue Ryder Nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational and complementary
therapists, social workers and bereavement support workers work seamlessly together to support patients and their families through the most difficult times. Since the beginning of the pandemic staff from Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice continue to use their skills, expertise and experience to relieve the pressure on the NHS locally.
