Story
I'm running the Glencoe half-marathon on Sunday 1 October.
For those of you who know me, you'll know that I'm not a runner... I find 5km a challenge so with woefully poor training, 21km across hills is certainly going to be a bit of an ask!
Laugh as you may (particularly if rain pours down on that given Sunday), it's got to be worth a fiver for my efforts, so please consider switching tomorrow's small luxury (take-out coffee/glass of wine/cream cake) for this fund raising page and help make a tangible difference at SKSN School (which sits within the Indiability umbrella).
Having just got back from India, I once again feel humbled by the 250 children of SKSN who face their challenging situation with more dignity, independence and determination than you can imagine. We've been involved with SKSN for almost 10 years and I can honestly say, this school quite literally changes lives.
My deliberately modest fund raising target is to cover the cost of toiletries for the children for part of this academic year (simply soap and hair oil). Most importantly, please don't let the target limit your generosity... there are many, many other basic requirements at the school for which funding is needed so every penny you can offer will be used effectively.
Thanks in advance for your support... when I'm cold, wet and tired somewhere deep in the Highlands, your sponsorship will push me through!
