Story

The Story So Far…..

Currently, whisky is pretty much my life! I have explored its history, studied in depth the production process and now spend my time working on the global launch  of Mortlach Single Malt. Oh, and I also enjoy the occasional dram myself. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

I spend a lot of time at 34,000 feet and in hotels all over the globe. It's exciting...fun...but very hard work – honestly! Running is my way of way of relaxing and exploring new cities at the same time.

My Goal…..

I have wanted to run the London Marathon for some years  and finally I've got a place.

On Sunday 26th April 2015 I will be running 26.2 miles across London in the Virgin Money London Marathon for The Children's Society. My schedule already has me away from Edinburgh for 3 out of the next 6 months and there are still more trips to fit in. I have never run a full marathon before so my global city fun running just got serious

The Journey….

Canada...Vietnam...Indonesia...Russia...Germany...Switzerland...these are just some of the countries I’ll be visiting in the next 6 months - and I will attempt to train in each one.

Where you come in (part 1)…….

I need a little help from my friends. You don’t have to do the epic 26.2miles (unless you want to?!); I’ll run it for you and we can help some others worse off than us at the same time – It’s a win win!

If I'm in the same city as you, show me your favourite running route, maybe come for a run with me.Drop me a motivational text/email every once in a while – tough love encouraged – I can then reply with how sore my feet are - you can tell me to stop moaning and get on with it!

Part 2: The Deal……

More than completing this for me...(and for you)...but for a very worthy cause:

The Children's Society.  http://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/

They help change children's lives, and for over a century, they have been working with some of the most disadvantaged children, tackling child poverty and neglect, helping child runaways and young carers and helping to stop the sexual exploitation of children - all through an extensive network of frontline services and an army of volunteers.

All the money raised through my efforts will go towards supporting The Children's Society. These funds enable their projects to continue providing services such as mentoring for young runaways, support services for families and a while host of other support services for children and young people.

3.7million children live in poverty in the UK - and with your sponsorship money we can help change this.

I will be hosting events (of course whisky will be featured!) across the world to help this fundraising - but any support now would be greatly appreciated not just by me, but by The Children's Society.

The Perk…….

On top of this, for every £5 you donate you'll receive a raffle ticket. For what...well, whisky, naturally! Updates on bottles will be posted on here and on Social media. The draw will be made on race day!

Why JustGiving……

Thank you!
